Taking some time to regroup..Celebrate your own Chaos.

As usual, I jump in with both feet and without thinking, I'm off.  This is how I started this Blog.  Little did I know it would take over my life. (in the best way possible)  I really want to give something amazing to everyone out there.  I want to learn from the endless numbers of people, who all inspire, in their own God given way.  THAT being said, I'm taking a little bit of time to regroup and design a site that will be all the things I imagined.  I want to connect with everyone and talk about EVERYTHING.  I want to laugh and learn with the rest of the world.  I want to be healthy, happy, strong, and empowered.  I want to celebrate that we are amazing women, amazing with ALL of our flaws.  Let's celebrate our own Chaos! xoxo k

Ok I'm in a "Healthy way to start you day" mood. My new favorite protein powder is by "Life Time"
It's called  "Life's basics",Pea,Hemp, Rice, and Chia seed.(unsweetened). Some of the protein powders out there give me a stomach ache, so far, no stomach problems.

I've been making it with:
A mix of Frozen berries (I like Blueberries and strawberries best)
A Frozen banana
A scoop of non-fat yogurt (I use Fage)
And Ice.
A scoop of  "Life Basics"protein per serving.
Mix until thick and smooth.

I make a blender full and keep it in the fridge for a pick-me-up throughout the day. Better than coffee.
My whole family LOVES it.

(I keep peeled bananas in the freezer, they make the shake super thick and creamy)

Now go to the store and stock up on the ingredients so you have no excuse!

"Yummy Breakfast for Wellness"

Breakfast can be a beast in the morning, three kids (4, 10, 13), three different personalities, three different schools, and one Mom who wants to feed them healthy, but quickly, and get them the heck off to school.
My favorite breakfast, (for those of you who know me) has always been oatmeal.
Steel cut/blueberries/strawberries/flax seed/chia seed/cinnamon/ agave to sweeten. Add all the listed or just what you like.
I slow-cook it in a mixture of Almond/Soy milk/water.
If you feel like adding a little more protein, toss some scrambled or hard boiled eggs on top.  I know, I know, this sounds disgusting, but it's actually really good. You and your kids will be full much longer, thank the slow absorbing carbs, and the chia for that!
I make a lot, and put it in small containers.  I put some in the fridge, and most in the freezer, ready when you need it.
Pure health in an AM makes for a great start to the day. Plus, it makes the house smell like Mom's.

Allergy season, here in Los Angeles, is in high gear.  Our entire family is on some sort of allergy medicine.  My LEAST favorite thing to do is give my kids medicine of any kind, (unless of course they are really, really sick).
A homeopathic remedy for allergy, colds, sinus infections....
5 drops of Grapefruit seed extract, 1/2 tsp.Sea salt, and 8 oz of warm water.

With a dropper, squeeze into each nostril and hang upside down. (obviously you can only do this with older children, or very adventurous younger ones).  Repeat several times.  You can also gargle with this mixture.

"Blow, Blow, Blow your nose, NO sucking in boogies"...This is what my poor kids hear all day long.
"You'll suck it all right into you ears, and get an infection!"  Good luck!

The Beginning....

This is the beginning, the first day of starting something new.  All of these thoughts and ideas, now on paper, (or computer screen)..Intimidating, a little scarry, and very exciting.
I was born and blessed with an amazing amount of common sense.  I am now going to pass on a little of what I know.

Kelley's Intentions

Dick Clark died today. RIP... And thanks for "American Bandstand"  changed a lot of lives.
